Every business in the world needs to make use of advertising, but I’m going to focus on removals. The reason for this is we now live in a much smaller world than we once did. I’m not saying the planet is physically shrinking (although some scientist somewhere may disagree)! What I’m talking about is that all sorts of technology has made it easier for everyone to move around the world.
This is especially true for those of you that live in the European Union. Sure, not everyone agrees this was a good political move, but that’s not what I’m here to talk about.
The point I’m trying to get across is the fact that the removals industry has become way more competitive than it once was, and this is why advertising is of the utmost importance. In the following few words, I’m going to outline some of the more traditional methods of getting your business name out there and some of the more forward thinking.
This can be in the form of a newspaper ad, a listing in a business directory, the radio or even (if you have the budget), the television. Of course, the cost goes up depending on the method you use. If you decide to take the route of say, a business directory listing these usually require a subscription of some sort which most companies can handle. Newspaper, radio and television ads are a different story. The chances are you’ll have to pay a one off fee, but there are couple (or few) things to consider.
Will this type of advertising reach your target audience?
Can your business afford to pay the fee required?
If it can, do you know how many potential removal customers this might attract?
The list goes on!
For me, this is the exciting part! The internet is a vast place, and if used correctly it can help you expand your client base without the need to spend loads of money. Lots of companies will, of course have a website and this is a great way to showcase what types of removal services your company offers.
However, if your advertising budget is small there are other ways you can go about getting your name out there. There are a myriad of online business directories to choose from. OK, they may want a small subscription but it could help you find those all important new customers.
You could even try free classified advertising or posting on forums. When you start to think about it, the list is endless. Of course, you could also sign-up with an online removals marketplace. Many companies like this offer free subscription and they bring the removal jobs to you (not the other way around).
Whatever you decide, the message here is advertising is simply one of the most important tools you can use in order to get your business name out there!
