Right now, we’re all aware of the economic “downturn” or “crisis” as it has been duped, and many of us are looking for ways to save money. However, moving home or office is something many of us can’t avoid. The reason I write these words today, is to give you a little word of warning. Self-Drive removals are not always the cheapest option.
Why? Because many of us will not have done this before, and because of this, we forget some of the most important factors:
How much will it cost for to insure your-self, or any other drivers for the van?
Have you been able to accurately assess how large the van needs to be?
Do you know how to pack a van on your own so all your belongings are safe?
What about Goods in Transit insurance?
Do you know how to calculate the cost of fuel, and if you’re taking the van abroad, how much will it cost you in tolls?
Do you know just how long it will take you to pack, drive to your new destination, and unpack?
The questions soon mount up, and these are just a few that I’ve thought about off the top of my head. This is why removal companies exist. They don’t just help take the stress out of your UK, or European move, they will factor all of the considerations above into their quote, and at the same-time, make sure everything arrives in good condition.
You could, of course, spend hours working everything out on your own, but do you really have time to do that? There’s packing to be done, you need to inform various people about your change of address, and not only that, you have to juggle dates so you can hand-over the keys to your last home or office, and at the same-time know you have the keys for the new place.
In my opinion, there are plenty of removal companies out there that offer great prices, will give you discounts on packaging supplies, and to be honest, they’re worth using just so you can take some of the stress out of your move.
If you’re still not convinced, try posting your removal requirements on to a website that will compare prices for you, and I’ll bet you’ll be surprised at just how much you can save, even when you use a professional service.
