Satellite Navigation, or as we all lovingly refer to it these days, SatNav has been around for sometime now. My question to everyone reading this is do you think these little gadgets are worth the money? There have been many reports over the years on how people have ended up in a river or find themselves driving down the motorway the wrong way, but is this down to the user or the machine?
Many people who are moving around all the time would probably say it’s the machine at fault. On the other hand some may say its user error. Why? Because do you really have to rely so heavily on your SatNav system that you don’t actually take any notice of where you’re going? Is it not possible that the poor person who ended up in a river didn’t see it coming?
This is a difficult question for me. I understand SatNav comes in really useful for removal companies who are constantly visiting places they’ve never been before and these machines help them find their customers doors far quicker than they could before. I also understand that if you use your SatNav personally, it can come in really handy if you’re visiting a new city for the first time.
But as the title of this blog suggests, I would like to know if they’re a blessing or a curse….what are your thoughts?
