If you’re just about to move into your first home it’s going to be very exciting especially if you have left room in your budget to “kit” the place out with all the things you love. You may well have already thought about essential items of furniture such as beds, sofas, a dining and coffee table or other “bits and pieces” you can’t do without.
You may think you’ve already thought about the non-essential items such as bed linen, towels, the odd few scatter cushions and other items that will decorate your home. In fact, once you start to think about it the list is endless! This means it can be very easy to forget some items that are just as essential as having a sofa but you don’t think about them until after you’ve moved into your first home.
So, just for you there are a few things below that you may not have thought about:
OK, so a washing machine is the first thing that springs to mind when thinking about laundry, and if you’re lucky enough you might even be able to splash out on a dryer! However, have you given any thought the following?
Ironing board and iron
A linen basket for dirty and clean clothing
Pegs and a washing line (if you don’t have a dryer)
Of course, the products you will need for washing your clothes!
This is one of the most common mistakes people make when they move into their first home. After all, we don’t all have the benefit of parents who are there to make sure we stay safe. So, think about making sure you have these to hand:
A torch and some candles, (who knows when a power cut might strike or a fuse might go)!
A first aid kit.
Tools such as screwdrivers, an Allen key set, drills, a hammer or anything-else that will help you either complete a DIY job or fix something that’s broken.
Smoke and CO alarms are essential for any home let alone for those of you who are moving into your first house.
General Household Items
You will need a whole host of other miscellaneous items that will help life feel a lot more comfortable when you first move in. Making a list of all the cleaning products you will need is one thing, but you also need to make sure you have the tools to use them! A mop and bucket for instance, a dust-pan and brush, sponges, dusters and rubbish bags are just a few of the items that should be on this shopping list.
It would be impossible to cover everything in an article as short as this one, but if you make sure you at least have some of the essentials mentioned above it will mean you can spend more time settling into your new home rather than rushing to and from the shops for yet something-else you’ve forgotten!
If you’ve already got this covered and need someone to help you move it all in, why not take a look at the following link http://www.theroadahead.co.uk/getaquote.aspx You never know, you might just find the right removal company to help you!
